*If you or anyone you know is seriously considering suicide, I urge to to call 1-800 SUICIDE. I used to volunteer on this hotline, the national hub is here in Los Angeles, and I assure you the people working the lines are amazing.*

Practitioners & Mediums

  • George Anderson and his books. He is one of the most renown mediums in the world, and he writes about grief and healing. His books have helped me. A friend gave one to me when I was in need, and I in turn passed it along to someone whose son had recently died. I would love to one day have a session with George.
  • San Francisco based shaman Liv Wheeler was enormously helpful in my healing process. She’s a magical, inspiring, and super cool person doing really solid good work in the world. We worked together for 6 months- she offers a variety of healing services, and with me she channeled John and did soul retrieval work. We’ve also done transformative healing rituals in her space and on the beach.  With Liv I really felt seen, and I’d leave our sessions feeling hopeful, uplifted, and more whole. She teaches in SF and offers in person and phone sessions. Just looking at her website is healing.

Spiritual Teachers

  • Have you heard of Abraham ? Their stuff has been very healing and soothing. That’s what they do: soothe. This may not be for all…I think I might have hated it if someone told me about it during the first 10 months of my grief, but then again maybe I wouldn’t have. I started listening and reading to their work about a year ago and they have  helped me shift into a better state of thought. They have helped me find joy and this helps me get closer to John vibrationally. It’s a training process. Give the vortex a listen. Start here. I listen to various clips on various youtube channels practically every day.
  • Byron Katie and The Work have been helpful for me over the years in transforming the way I think and experience the world. It’s a spiritual inquiry process of investigating our stressful thoughts. Katie is an awakened teacher with a powerful story who now shares her unique way of being and her process for peace all over the world.  Her process may seem confusing or simplistic for the beginner but it is anything but- and continues to deepen and deepen. I highly recommend her 9 day school – John and I went together in 2008 and it was a doorway into a new world, for sure.  I had one of the greatest days of my life during the School. Her work about death and dying can be hit or miss for some people. Katie even flew in for John’s memorial to speak (as John was a beloved friend, student, and teacher of hers) and her words touched and helped many find a deeper layer of understanding about our loss and about death. Watching clips on Youtube is also a great way to get a sense of the Work and of her- and can be really healing and inspiring. She has many amazing teachings. So if you do check out her website or her blog, or read any of her books or start The Work- then “welcome to The Work!”
  • Also along the lines of Byron Katie, is one of her friends- and another of John’s teachers, Eckhart Tolle. Amazing teachings about the practice of presence. I love listening to his workshops while driving in the car or sitting on the beach. His teachings truly connect me to the state of Grace and have facilitated some huge and profound shifts in awareness and consciousness — opening up to a very huge and life changing “letting go” about John.
